News

The scandal around Gagić doesn’t want to calm down. The basketball team had a bitter press release that includes even personalities. The person in question still didn’t talk to the press. Rumours speak about Gagić setting up a claim against the team to get his salary the team still couldn’t pay for him. Other than these, everyone is just guessing.

Dear Basketball Team,
I love you a lot. You gave me countless wonderful, fantastic moments. Not only to me. With and without Gagić. I very kindly ask you never ever to make such a press release. It does not matter what was the reason behind, that made Gagić decide to take these steps. It does not matter what he said and what he is about to do. You must know, because you’re not blind, hell broke loose among fans. Your job would be now to calm the heated atmosphere down, not pouring oil to the fire. There are things that are not for the public. Getting personal in private is fine, but is strictly forbidden in a press release. Let us respect each other enough not to generate media war from the by default nasty incident. We must avoid to give reason for the numerous enemies of the club to further intrigues. No matter how painful or upsetting you see all these that happened, you must never forget your own responsibility for your fans.

Yours faithfully,
a very bitter and disappointed fan

Scandal has been swirling around Pantić, too. The latest news were about Chelsea buying him. Not much later Partizan offered him a stupendous contract, which the midfielder refused to sign. Right now all that we know is that Pantić will not travel back to Belgrade with the team from the Turkey training camp.
Marko Nikolić told hotsport.rs he is sorry things got this turn with Pantić. As he said, the midfielder was dropped out of the team even before Nikolić arrived, having a six-month-long suspension. Nikolić said, for Pantić it would be the best to stay for at least two more seasons at Partizan instead of hanging on loans by big teams. He added, this decision was made by Pantić’s parents and manager, making it clear the player himself didn’t have much say in it all, if any.

Good and bad news

Let’s start with the bad one.
Đorđe Gagić leaves Partizan. The player allegedly asked on today’s evening training to terminate his contract. There are no details available yet, nevertheless with this day Gagić stopped visiting Partizan’s trainings.

Good news is that the football team got another new player. Gregor Balažić, a Slovenian-born (Murska Sobota) central midfield signed to Partizan for one and a half year. Details to be announced soon.

Update:
Extra edition.
Vojislav Stanković allegedly signed to Inter Baku.

Update 2:
Partizan confirmed in a short Facebook-post that Gagić indeed left the team for financial reasons. An enormous mud-throwing has started on social media sites, fans don’t hide their anger and disappointment. Additionally, a mysterious message is circling around the internet, allegedly from Saša Pavlović’s Instagram profile, where the former NBA-player clearly takes his stand on the case.
As for me, I dissociate myself from all this mud-throwing. It is disgusting. It is such a depth where no one should fall. Whether you know the truth or not.

Birthday

Today is the 25th birthday of Nemanja Kojić, Partizan’s striker.

Srećan rođendan!

Brkušanin kickstarted it, Ogrizović joined him, Čuković also didn’t want to miss out a chance, then finally Brkušanin gave the coup de grace.

MZT Skopje - KK Partizan 55:63 (Adriatic League)

At first there was no introduction, no discussion, Tepić opened right with the epilogue and THIS assist for Milutinov:

In the first quarter Skopje clearly wanted to show the world they are not afraid of the famous guests. They sent the awfully fast Dixon in the battle - we had a troll Mačvan. The result of the first period was 19:24, at first glance it looks as a smooth game. In reality we sweated blood, we had to switch back the result to our side three times. Mačvan was on full speed, Pavlović was our nuclear reactor, who scored our first 3-pointer at the end of the quarter, while Murić added a sophisticated elegance to all this teamwork.

In the second quarter the Macedonian team went flat, like a used tyre, compared to that pace they had at the beginning. They became dull and missed out a lot of chances. We took a nasty advantage of them, Pavlović kept on scoring as if there was no tomorrow, Andrić brought a 3-pointer with a broad smile and it couldn’t happen without Mačvan and Milutinov (especially Mačvan, his performace was simply brutal in this match, he was like a granite foundation). The standing was 30:38 in the half-time.

Home team again pulled themselves together for the 3rd part. As a beginning they made a 7:2 series (37:40) and at a point they took the lead (47:46) as well as control over the game. We missed out too many chances and it paid off, as always. The result was 49:48 at the end of the quarter, and even in the beginning of the last one the Macedonian team opened with a free throw (51:48). They even started to send wide grins to each other as something like "hey, look at these Belgrade big boys, they are so out of themselves".
Then came Marinković and an awesome, 10-point series.

First he scored a 3-pointer (51:51), then Murić (51:54) also Milosavljević (51:57) and it was also him who topped it all from a free throw (51:58).

Then , the truth is, that was more or less all about the quarter. Nothing else happened. Both teams slowed down and the only mentionable event was when Gagić needed medical treatment after falling and hitting himself hard to the floor. At the end there were some free throws left (one for Skopje, two for us) and one weak action goal on both sides (by Andrić, for us). We won (55:63) and right now that’s the most important.

VK Partizan - Budvanska Rivijera 8:8 (Triglav League)

We are not really overwhelmed with infos about yesterday’s water polo match. As a start, no TV channels broadcasted it

it would have hurt someone, right?...

and even news sites write about it as just some interesting news for the "Mix" section, if they mention it at all.
Fact is, we were leading to 6:4 in the half time, then the Montenegrin team equalized in the 3rd quarter. Radulović, Tanasković and Radojević all scored 2-2 goals. There’s no info about the others.

Current standing of our group:
1. Primorje 40 points
2. Radnički Kragujevac 32 points

5. POŠK 16 points
6. Budvanska Rivijera 15 points
7. Jadran ST 10 points
8. Branik Maribor 0 pont

The first 4 teams will qualify to the next round.

OK Partizan - Spartak Ljig 3:1 (SuperLiga Round 14)

Aaannndddd we are still undefeated.
The opponent came with the tranquility of the underdog, saw and won the first set to 23:25 (thanks to mostly Radosav Dojčilović, who returned after a month and a half of pause as well as to the rock hard blocks of Spartak).
In the second game we pulled ourselves together and made the best of our serves. We made it quickly to 6:2, the Milija Mrdak-Marko Nikolić axis brought their usual (great) form. We won the set to 25:18 and equalized.
In the third part the team switched to Steam Roller mode, the guests’ row of mistakes added an extra to it. The game lasted for 20 minutes only, that was enough for us to win to 25:15 and take the lead.
The opponent tried to prove themselves in the final game. They made a series of 0:4, but even that wasn’t enough against Mrdak and Majstorović, who switched to full speed at the end. We won the last set to 25:15 as well.

OK Partizan: Lopar (12), Kostić (3), Mrdak (21), Majstorović (1), P. Nikolić (5), M. Nikolić (16), Rajković (libero), Jokanović, Veličković (1), Popović, Buša, Ivković

Transfer news

The football team signed Bulgarian defender Ivan Bandalovski. The 29-year-old player, who appeared 12 times so far in the Bulgarian national team is to substitute the injured Vulićević.

(photo: partizan.rs)

Bandalovski came to Partizan as a free agent (some rumours say he has been searching for a team for half a year). He signed a 1,5-year contract with the team.

***

As for the others: Danko Lazović left Partizan. He got an offer from China which he accepted. From the Turkey training camp he immediately travelled to Asia.
Danilo Pantić is also sold out. The young midfielder was bought by Chelsea, that immediately put Pantić on loan to Dutch team Vitesse. (Rumours speak about 900 000 euros, that was neither confirmed, nor confuted.)

***

The presidental armchair has not even got warm under the new leadership, but mud-throwing has been started. Milorad Vuličević made his harsh point of view public in mozzartsport.com claiming he did not understand why Marko Nikolić was so upset (the trainer made no secret - also to mozzartsport - about his disappointment after the preparational matches didn’t bring the desired result, to say the least), because the team leadership did not sell any player (sic!!!), what is more, according to the wishes of the head coach they refused to accept the almost 3 million euro offer of Lille for Škuletić as well as Anderlecht and their similarly rich request for Ćirković.

As a top of it all, Vuličević speaks harshly about Pantić, too. I’ll be honest now: I seriously don’t get why he thinks a 18-year-old kid can make a mature, serious decision in a situation that would test even an experienced, older player who has been to many foreign teams.

VK Partizan - Primorje 7:11 (Champions League)

It's so great (NOT!) to find out in the last minutes of the 4th quarter that RTS 2 broadcasted the match despite all... At that point it didn't matter much anyway... There was one Primorje-goal that looked like a goal from only one angle, but the referees still validated it. There was a Partizan-goal, too, which seemed to be a real goal from every angle, but referees still invalidated it. There was also a penalty for the Croatian team, no one knows why that was given to them.
The hero of the day was Gavril Subotić, scoring 3 of Partizan’s 7 goals. Mandić, Gogov, Manojlović and Stojanović each scored a goal. Based on the review of zurnal.rs Partizan was fighting like a lion, doing their best (and even more) for victory, but Croatians were stronger than them.
You’re still our heroes.
