FK Partizan - Mladost 3:1 (superliga, round 11)

Despite the goal-rich result it was a slumbery passing-around. Even Mladost’s performance was not more than an "enough-for-a-training-game"-effort.

Everton killed a Mladost-player (i.e. kicked him to the ground brutally) already in the 8th minute. It was rough, it was the action of a true jerk. I hope Everton said a prayer for not getting a yellow card right there... Afterwards there was a questionnable situation, Đurđić fell to the ground inside Mladost’s penalty area. All slow motion replays from all camera angles showed Mladost’s defender deliberately pushing Đurđić, but the referee didn’t whistle. (Not much later Đurđević fell to the ground inside Mladost’s penalty area the same way, the referee’s whistle kept silent again.)
Leonardo tried to shake up the sleepy atmosphere in the 19th minute. We got a free kick, about 17-18 metres from the box. The Brazilian shot, it flew to the target, the goalkeeper had a great save.
We controlled the game, we possessed the ball, Mladost got stuck on their half, but all that was happening was just some passing-around lvl 5th league veterans. Jevtović had an attempt in the 22nd minute, it was too high. (But at least something happened...) In the 26th minute someone headed Janković’s free kick to the box, but it was way too high, while Jevtović got injured in the goalmouth scramble. He got medical attendance, but it took too long... Finally he got a bandage on his head and was taken off the pitch. (Saša Ilić substituted him.)

Later mozzartsport.com informed that Jevtović had to be taken to Vojnomedicinska Akademija to get professional treatment. He got a plaster on his injury, then he could leave the hospital. He is doing fine, thank you very much, but he will surely not be able to play for a while.

Other than this the game was such a boredom that Average Fan was rather browsing the news instead... In the 34th minute Leonardo shot from a sharp angle. It was a weak shot, the goalkeeper easily caught it. In the 38th minute we had another weak attempt, the goalkeeper again caught it. Yaaaawn... 40th minute, now Janković had a try, again the goalkeeper saved. Meanwhile it started to rain, players sleepily passed the ball around, sometimes we had a semi-serious attempt. Mladost got stuck at their half and they didn’t really want to break out.
Leonardo got fed up with this fumbling in the 45th minute. He shot a fantastic goal from a 17-metre free kick. The goalkeeper was just watching. 1:0

There’s nothing much to mention about the beginning of the second half. Both teams had one weak attempt, then all of a sudden Mladost got a penalty in the 56th minute.
I swear I didn’t see what happened. ArenaSport played it in slow motion quite a few times, but even the commentator sounded perplexed. Đurđić was supposed to do something (maybe he played handball?...) - I’m just guessing, as Đurđić got a yellow card right after the whistle. If anybody knows what actually happened, write it to the comment box, thanks in advance.

We took back the lead in the 60th minute. Đurđević scored an fantastic and cheeky goal, passing the ball above the goalkeeper. It was that kind of goal that makes every true football fan scream from amazement. It happened after a Mladost goal-kick. Đurđić grabbed the ball at the half-line and passed it ahead to Đurđević. Đurđević ran up and kicked the ball into the box, above the shocked goalkeeper. 2:1

Mladost had their biggest chance in the 62nd minute. Pejović headed the ball after a free kick, it was just a little bit too wide.
Mladost’s defenders fell asleep in the 67th minute. Leonardo took advantage and quickly grabbed the ball. He passed it to Bojinov, who just joined the game as a substitute. And this sloth was lucky enough to score a goal right from the first ball-touch. 3:1

It must be communicated with sign language as well (afterwards came the smoke signals, probably)

Mladost had a thin chance in the 69th minute, but Kljajić interrupted. Afterwards not much happened. Bojinov nevertheless - better to be safe than sorry - missed out two attempts. Leonardo also had one, he too missed it out.

FK Partizan - Napredak 3:1 (Serbian Cup, 1/16 final)

We won with half speed.
Really. We didn’t need any struggle at all. And even this way we made it as a routine victory, with three goals. It was really an easy, post-derby game. At first Napredak made a try, they had an attempt in the 5th minute (too wide). Then it was just some sleepy passing around for quite a while (though Napredak tried again in the 15th minute, Jovović shot, too wide). Then in the 19th minute Đurđević got the ball after a Partizan free kick. He shot right there, but defenders blocked him. No problem, the ball dropped back to him. He caught it, grabbed it and made a cannon shot right into the middle of the box. 1:0

The pace didn’t get any faster afterwards, it was still this easy, workday afternoon training game atmosphere as earlier. Despite the easy-going ambience, the 26th minute brought the second Partizan-goal. Đurđević passed to Đurđić, who has been performing with more and more self-confidence, but two defenders arrived and blocked the attempt.
Or well, they rather thought they blocked our attempt.
Because Leonardo appeared out of the blue, pushed himself aggressively between the two defenders, grabbed the ball and mercilessly shot it. And scored, too! 2:0

This brought a bit more life to the game. In the 32nd minute Leonardo passed to Đurđić. Đurđić crossed to the middle, but Napredak-defenders headed the ball out.
Then in the 36th minute we practically settled the final score. Leonardo shot, the goalkeeper saved, but the ball dropped - again - to Đurđević. Đurđević sent it to the box with a fly-kick. 3:0

Nothing else happened for the rest of the first half. We kept on playing with half-speed, but even that was enough.
In the second half Šljivić was about to shot after a corner-kick in the 48th minute, but he hit the ball in such a twisted way that it was painful to see. (The ball flew out of the pitch through the baseline.)
The game was still this easy, passing-around styled event, same as in the first half. We had two attempts, first Marjanović shot from 22 metres in the 52nd minute (too high), then two minutes later it was Đurđević again, shooting from a sharp angle (too wide). Then in the 56th minute Kljajić had a MARVELLOUS save. Corner-kick, Vukanović headed it to the box. 3:1

Oh well. They can’t say they didn’t score.

The 61st minute brought another cardial arrest. Napredak got a corner-kick, making a big goalmouth scramble, then the ball rolled out through the baseline in the very last moment. (Then Kljajić yelled off the entire Partizan defense line...)

Kljajić is getting better lately. No more fumblings, no more dropping-the-ball-from-the-hand-and-killing-the-nerve-cells-of-fans, no more butterfly catching. He is more and more confident and made great saves now as well as on the derby.

Sekidika’s red card was the next that stirred up the laziness a bit. He knocked down Vulićević in the 71st minute - it wasn’t the first time for him. He already had a yellow card, the referee sent him off.
Other than this Đurđić had two attempts

first he got a great pass from Kosović in the 74th minute. No flag up, Đurđić shot, it was a quite good one, just the goalkeeper was in the way.  He had another in the 87th minute, heading the ball to the box after a corner-kick, but it was too wide.

After the kickoff the two teams started to strangle each other. It was a very heavy start, the first 10 minutes brought a great fight, it was in fact spectacular at some moments. Players went hard on themselves as well as on each other, there were lots of fouls, yelling (with each other and with the referee). The atmosphere was of a true, real football derby.
The first attempt came in the 10th minute. We got a free kick at Zvezda's penalty area line, after Ristić kicked Jevtović to the ground

some complained for penalty kick, but ArenaSport’s slow motion replay made it clear that the foul happened just outside the penalty area. Had Ristić slided in just half a second later, it would have happened inside the penalty area

Leonardo stood behind the ball to do the free kick. He shot, the entire stadium was on their feet shouting "goooal", but finally the ball rolled out of the pitch, missing the box with just half a centimetre.

Zvezda could not reach up to our penalty area. The truth is that our defense line was on top. They blocked the hell out of the opponent. (If Zvezda could get to Partizan’s penalty at all...)

Great battle. That was on the pitch, though with barely any goal attempt. In the 22nd minute Đurđević had a distant shot, the goalkeeper caught it. In the 25th minute it was again Đurđević trying. He shook off the defender constantly hanging on him, then shot from 16 metres, it was just a bit too wide.

Đurđević had a fantastic performance at this derby. But not just him. The entire team brought the best out of themselves.

We had another chance in the 27th minute. Leonardo got the ball after a free kick, he forwarded it to Đurđević. Đurđević shot, right onto the side net.
In these minutes Zvezda had to play it defensive. Partizan-players played it brave and combative, they ran a lot, attacked, there was no idle moment at all.
Zvezda could reach our penalty area in the 29th minute, when Kljajić had to interfere for the first time. Srnić had a shot from a sharp right angle, Kljajić pushed it to corner kick.
In the next minutes Zvezda possessed the ball more, another thing is that they could just pass it around in the background. Partizan’s defense line locked up. Zvezda pressed us hard, but they could not force out one single attempt (maybe only piles...). Finally Ruiz shot in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit a defender. Kljajić didn’t even have to make any extra jump or save, the ball fell right into his hands.

Zvezda struggled ahead, with clenched teeth, but they could not break through our defense.

Partizan attacked. We spent much more time around Zvezda’s penalty area than they could reach our half at all. They managed to do it once, in the very last minute of the first half, when Petković shot from 16 metres, but Kljajić saved it easily.

Zvezda tried to speed up for the second half. In the 50th minute Gabonese midfielder Kanga shot from 18 metres after a counter-attack. Kljajić easily saved it.

It’ll be the worst joke ever, but I just have to. Did he leave Baby Roo in the locker-room? I hope though, Winnie The Pooh is a Partizan-fan...

In the 52nd minute Ristić was dribbling on the left side, then crossed to Vieira. The Portuguese shot - and the ball flew out of the stadium. Three minutes later Ruiz wanted to cross to the middle, Srnić was waiting there, but it was flag up.

The slow motion replay made it clear that it wasn’t offside. Srnić was a half step backward compared to the defender. It didn’t matter much anyway, because Srnić shot, but just like Vieira, he kicked the ball out to the tribune.

A minute later the same scene happened at the other side, with Đurđević being offside.
In the 59th minute Stevanović crossed from the right. Đurđević headed it, the ball hit the crossbar. In the 62nd minute Baby Roo Kanga shot again from 18 metres, it was way too wide. The game was very combative, with lots of clenched teeth, not that spectacular as it was earlier, but it brought a lot of fight. Players ran a lot and clashed a lot on both sides. In the 74th minute again Đurđević shot, it was too high.

With the arrival of Saša Ilić the pace sped up. We attacked, but we still couldn’t develop an attempt, until the 86th minute. From that moment on Partizan played a dream game.
Leonardo ran up on the left side. He made a big solo, dribbled, finally defenders blocked him. But we didn’t stop for a moment. Zvezda got stuck at their penalty area, while Partizan kept on searching for the gap on Zvezda’s defense line like a tank steam roller. In the 89th minute their defenders wanted to kick the ball downfield. They did so, but the ball dropped right to Saša Ilić. The Captain sent it ahead to Đurđić in the middle. Đurđić headed it ahead to Leonardo. Leonardo made a fantastic, amazing, flying bicycle kick and scored a huge goal right into the middle of the box.

Those who regularly read this blog know, that I haven’t been the fan of Leonardo, so to speak. But this time the Brazilian was absolutely the best. He scored a fantastic, beautiful, spectacular goal in the 89th minute, settling the final score of the derby as well, and he worked a lot during the entire game, too, running, passing, dribbling, while Zvezda’s players continuously kicked him to the ground. Great job, Leonardo, keep it up!
Also big respect and hats off for Đurđić not just for the great assist, but for working hard for the whole time he was in the game. He too ran a lot and took his part in the attacks. The former ball-phobiac Đurđić was gone, instead we had a brave, combative, dauntless, team player Đurđić on the pitch.

There was one last attack by Zvezda in the 90+2th minute. They ran up for a counter-attack, Kanga forwarded the ball to Ruiz. Kljajić ran out of the goalmouth, Ruiz dribbled him and shot. Half the world watched it breathlessly

Catastrophal defeat yesterday, flood of idiotism today. Iliev, Vazura and the whole gang overtook the forever-ready-for-some-gossip press and loaded a pile of shit to the by default angry and bitter fans. Iliev told to Mozzartsport (you can read it here if you want...) that

The management is not responsible for the defeat. They did all they could to support the team. They tried to live up to expectations on every field. In my opinion they are innocent. They never caught up in the business part, they always had a positive attitude and ensured excellent circumstances for the team. That's how it should be. Well, unfortunately we had no luck.

It hurts, said Nemanja Mihajlović, one of the tragic heroes of the game according to mondo.rs. I think we were better on both games, but it seems it’s not always enough. We knew we were better but we couldn’t show it on the field.

Athletic Bilbao - FK Partizan 5:1 (UEFA Europa League)

I start with a short intro, because there has been a turmoil around the football team since the beginning of the week. It accumulated for this half of the week and it definitely had an impact on this brutal meltdown in Bilbao.
It started with Milorad Vučelić heavily criticizing the football players in public for the weak performance. He said, the football players are like a bunch of autists, adding that they are to blame for everything. (You get it, he is the perfect politician, washing his hands, getting rid of responsibility - well, he does have routine.) A day later Ivica Iliev answered Vučelić (in public, of course) with a diplomatic touché, saying that critics are needed, but not in the style of an enraged elephant dashing into a china shop, especially not in the press.
After all these Andrija Živković’s father got fed up (what can I say, it’s totally understandable) and turned the table on Partizan’s management, saying that the current leadership is worse than the Đurić-era

and his son will not travel to Bilbao with the team. Živković jr. indeed wasn’t included in that group of players that went to Basque Country, what is more, if rumours are true, meanwhile he signed a five-year contract with Portuguese team Benfica, that is supposed to take effect in January 2016. (Benfica has dismissed these rumours though.)
The team didn’t include Brašanac (injured), Saša Ilić and Leković either.
There was full house in San Mamés stadium, with a very small group of Grave Diggers as well.

The truth is that after the starting whistle Partizan got stuck in their half, or rather, they seemed as if they don't want to get out of there. We got to Bilbao's penalty area some time in the 9th minute. We even got a corner kick, but defenders headed it out.
And... and we stayed on our half.
And we kept on passing the ball backwards.
We didn’t attack. We didn’t tear down the opponent like a roaring lion. As if we just wanted to somehow avoid any kind of confrontation.
We get the punishment for our non-attacking attitude. The Basque team took the lead in the 16th minute. Williams ran up in the middle, passing to Aduriz. Aduriz was wrestling with Subić, Partizan’s defender slid, Aduriz was all alone. He passed to Williams arriving out of the blue. Williams thanked and with a wide grin he kicked the ball into our net. 1:0
We didn’t have to wait too long for the equalizing goal. Right after the kickoff Grbić ran up on the right side and  passed to Aboubakar in the middle. The assistant didn’t wave offside, Aboubakar made a great solo, shot and scored. 1:1

Bilbao took back the lead in the 18th minute.
They attacked on the right side. The ball was sent to the middle, where Jevtović (if I could see it well...) kicked it out of the penalty area, right in front of a Basque player. He kicked it back to his tieammate inside the penalty area. This one dribbled a bit, then kicked the ball to Williams, who again appeared out of nowhere and who kicked the ball to the net, scoring his second goal. 2:1

this kid was very dangerous, he was like quicksilver, very fast, always finding the ball and especially appearing out of nowhere

arriving from the left side, very fast and invisible. He shot, thankfully it was too high. In the meantime Balažic fell on the ground and he was taken off on a litter. He had so heavy pains that he couldn’t eve stand on his feet.

His ligament got most probably torn. It was just a bad movement while falling to the ground. There’s no info yet about how long his recovery will be.

In the 28th minute we made a counter-attack after a Bilbao-corner. Stevanović ran up on the left and passed to Aboubakar in the middle. Bilbao’s goalkeeper ran out of the goalmouth and kicked the ball back to our half before the Cameroonian player could have reached it.
Three minutes later Stevanović was wrestling for the ball with a player of the home team. Finally Subić got the ball and made an excellent pass to the middle, but Babović, who was arriving there, just missed it.
In the 36th minute Fabricio’s free kick flew out of the field, probably also of the stadium.
In the 39th minute Aduriz attacked all of a sudden. He was taken into a "sandwich" by two Partizan-defenders, then the Basque player fell to the ground, right inside our penalty area. The goalkeeper didn’t appreciate the trick, the home team got only a free kick from 17 metres instead of a penalty. Benat stood behind the ball and with a very cheeky movement he shot the ball in a way that it went almost round the wall, passed by the shocked Kljajić and fell into our net. 3:1
...and they attacked again right after the kickoff, on the right. The ball was passed to the middle, Kljajić had a great save.
The last action happened in the 45+1st minute, again Williams from the right side, passing the ball to the middle, someone headed it to the goal line, Kljajić saved.
In the second half we continued where we finished in the first half. We passed the ball backwards, our attacks - if there were any... - were blocked, or we simply lost the ball. That was what happened in the 51st minute, but then it was Fabricio who lost the ball and it all ended up in a dangerous goal attempt by Bilbao. For our great luck Williams was on offside, the referee whistled it off.
In the 53rd minute Bilbao got a free kick after Williams fell on the ground after clashing with Fabricio (the slow motion replay clearly showed that nothing happened, Williams was acting, but the referee believed him). They were 18 metres from our goal line. Benat kicked, Vulićević blocked it and we could start a counter-attack. Even though Bilbao’s defenders inactivated our attempt, it still almost ended with an own goal. Their defender wanted to pass the ball back to the goalkeeper, but Herrerin was out of the goalmouth, even of the penalty area and he had to do a very heavy sprint to save the ball from rolling through the goal line. (He did, approx. 5 cm before the goal line.)
In the 55th minute Bilbao got another free kick, 25 metres from the goal line, on the right. Benat kicked, Williams got it, even shot from a sharp angle, missing it barely.
Then nothing happened. Bilbao’s players were playing with the ball, we were watching them. We didn’t interfere in their play. Sometimes, very rarely we could touch the ball, but even then we just tried to kick it as far from our goal line as possible. No attack, no ideas, nothing. In the 69th minute Grbić finally got the ball and ran up on the right side. He wanted to pass it to Šaponjić, but Herrerin was faster.
Then in the 71st minute Bilbao got a free kick, 30 metres from our goal line, on the right. Aduriz stood behind the ball, he shot, right into the net. 4:1
From then on Bilbao played a training match with us. That’s the truth. The two teams were two totally different worlds. What is more, in the 81st minute Aduriz got a long pass from the half line, ran up, clashed with Kljajić (Partizan’s goalkeeper stayed on the ground), then passed to Elustondo, who had nothing else to do but walk in to the empty net with the ball. 5:1 Okay, everyone, let’s go home now.
Nothing ever happened in the rest of the game that is worth to mention.

Sinđelić - FK Partizan 0:2 (Serbian Cup, 1/16 final)

The football team played against Serbian First League team Sinđelić in the 1/16 final of the Serbian Cup. No TV channels broadcasted the game

red team was more important for ArenaSport

so I have to rely on the reports of sports sites.
All reports agreed that this match again wouldn’t be put out to the window in ul. Humska, despite our victory.

The first half could be a very slow, very slumberous one, with the first action coming only in the 35th minute. Šaponjić got a pass from Stevanović and shot, but the goalkeeper saved. Later in the half there was a free kick by Babović as well as an attempt in the last minute by a home team, then the referee put an end to the suffering, at least for a while.

So terrible struggles to go through, for some... They are obliged to visit urban, lower league football fields with original Chanel handbag and fur coat... right, Sneki?

For the second half we picked ourselves together and managed to score a goal right in the beginning, in the 48th minute. Šaponjić got a great pass from Stevanović, he thanked it and kicked the ball right into the net. 0:1

The second goal was scored in the 68th minute. A defender pushed Šaponjić to the ground inside the penalty area, the referee immediately whistled for penalty. Šaponjić stood behind the ball, kicked and scored, just as it’s written in the Book of Rules.

FK Partizan - FK Sloga PM 3:0 (Serbian Cup, 1/8 final)

The guest team started a bit vehemently, they even tried with a shot in the 3rd minute. Then in the 7th minute Škuletić ran up in slalom across Sloga’s half and passed to Grbić. He sent a not too powerful kick, right into the goalkeeper’s hands.

At the very beginning of the match Živković clashed with a Sloga-player. The midfielder had pain in his right arm, he needed medical assistance

In the 9th minute Stevanović decided to go for a brave shoot, he was face to face with the goalkeeper only. Ranković saved with an amazing movement. In the 13th minute a Sloga player tried Kljajić’s reflexes. He sent a 25-metre shot, right into the Partizan goalkeeper’s lap.

In the 18th minute Ninković got the ball in the middle and passed right to Živković. The midfielder gave it to Škuletić, the striker ran up, leapt over the goalkeeper and shot to the goal. The ball flew between the legs of the defender arriving in a hurry - and hit the goalpost. It dropped back to the field where defenders cleared the area. Not much later Grbić found himself in front of Sloga’s goal line, but he shot the ball up into the air.

Then in the 24th minute Marković stole the ball from Sloga-players and passed it to Ninković. The midfielder rushed up on the right side and passed it to the middle at the penalty area. Škuletić arrived and stepped over the ball with a brilliant movement, because Marković was right behind him, grabbed the ball, shot and tore the net to pieces. 1:0

It was raining heavily, but Partizan was in control of the game. In the 30th minute Škuletić had a bold action, but the goalkeeper caught his shot. Almost immediately Ninković kicked the ball to Sloga’s goal line, but defenders deactivated it.

In the 40th minute Partizan had another chance. Grbić ran up on the right side, but his pass was cleared in the middle by defenders. The ball dropped to Ninković, then to Škuletić, who shot. Barely missed. A minute later Grbić made a huge kick, it ended in a corner.

The last minute brought two enormous Partizan-chances. First Škuletić grabbed the ball with a marvellous movement while Sloga defenders were fumbling, but he shot right into the goalkeeper’s lap. The ball dropped to Živković, who kicked it to the goal line. The ball hit the goalkeeper, the shot was finally cleared by defenders.

In the second half Sloga got a free kick in the 52nd minute. They were about 25-30 metres from Partizan’s goal line. Stojanović ran up and kicked, Kljajić caught it. In the 58th minute again the guest team had a chance. Antanasijević sent a distant but dangerous shot to Partizan’s goal. Barely missed. Two minutes later it was again about Sloga. Reljić dribbled himself up to Partizan’s penalty area, shaking off every defender. Finally Stanković appeared and blocked him.

A minute later the defender mentioned above tried the nerves of Sloga’s goalkeeper with a distant shot, but the kick died in Ranković’s lap.

In the 65th minute Partizan got a free kick. Ninković stood behind the ball, his shot hit the wall and ended in a corner. Branko Ilić jumped up for the arriving corner shot, but headed the ball too high.

Then in the 69th minute Luka got a pass and ran up in the right side. He passed the ball into the middle, where Ninković was waiting. He kicked from an impossible angle - and scored! (Sloga’s defender helped a bit, but Ninković’s shot would have ended in the net even if he hadn’t dropped himself in the way.) 2:0

In the 73rd minute Ninković fell on the ground, Partizan got a free kick. Živković made it, Ćirković got it and scored. Right into the net. But the referee was convinced Ćirković was on offside, therefore the goal was invalid.

We didn’t have to wait too long for a real goal. In the next minute Luka gave a wonderful pass to Ninković. Ninković ran up and passed to the middle. Škuletić arrived in the style of a WWII bomber and kicked the ball with left leg (!) into the net. 3:0

At the very end Kojić had a try (he joined as a substitute). In the 90+3rd minute he wanted to shoot from a counter-attack, but Ranković saved.
