Crvena Zvezda - VK Partizan 8:6

This match was supposed to be the eternal derby of Triglav Liga, but the truth is, dear fellow fans that Crvena Zvezda has been excluded from the league. Three of their players’ registration is unclarified, so the League’s jury decided to disqualify them from the series. (What is more, upon the infos of Studio B their president Viktor Jelenić is banned from his office for 18 months.) This match was (theoretically) the eternal derby of the Serbian league.
Well, apart from this we lost.

None of the channels broadcasted the game. Maybe it’s better.

The first half is told to be the worst of all times. Zvezda was on speed, they had a group of new, experienced players and they quickly scored 2 goals (2:0). From us only Gogov could score a bit more than 2 minutes before the end. Still the first quarter ended with 3:1.

Zvezda scored all their 3 goals of the first quarter from power play. If I allowed my black humour to flow, I could say it’s a good sign, because it means our defense line is strong, as they could score only when someone from there was missing. But allow me not to be in a joking mode now.

Zvezda used the same screenplay for the next quarter. From us again only Gogov could score. We finished the first half with 6:2.
Head coach Vladimir Vujasinović obviously didn’t praise the boys in the pause, therefore Partizan came back for the second half being much more determined. We made a 0:3-series (6:5). Zvezda scored (7:5), but the goal scorer Ivan Rackov got such a smash on his head from a Partizan-player that he had to leave the pool and ask for medical attendance.

I don’t know which one of you, brave young lions did this heroic act, but whomever of you it was, high five and hats off to you to demilitarise this America-imported player.

Vico scored, we headed to the final part with 7:6.
For the last quarter there was one Zvezda-goal remaining (8:6) as well as desperate Partizan-attempts (and constantly hitting the goalpost) for the last minutes.

There is something else I must mention.
Today is the 61st birthday of Miša Tumbas

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO HIM!!!!

and the water polo team greeted him for this occasion, because Miša is always there in the Banjica swimming pool whenever the team plays, and Miša is a legend, and the team wanted to somehow pay respect to him and to show gratitude for his support.

RK Partizan - Rudar Kostolac 32:26 (superliga, round 11)

In the meantime the handball team welcomed Rudar Kostolac in the Banjica sports centre. It wasn't really a tough job, we were leading for the whole time. In fact the only question was how many goals we should win over them with. 4:2 (5th minute), 8:4 (10th minute) - at this point guests reduced their difference for the end of the first 15 minutes (8:7). But it didn't cause any upheaval, because we had a confident lead again 5 minutes before the end (13:9). We finished the first half with 15:11.
The second half was even easier. It was going without such excitements that e.g. the opponent approaches us to 1 goal. 18:11 (35th minute), 21:13 (40th minute), what is more, for the 42nd minute our difference was 10 goals (23:13). Then 25:16 (45th minute), 28:18 (51st minute), 29:21 (49th minute). At the end Rudar Kostolac focused probably only having a less-than-10-goals difference. In the last minutes they reduced their disadvantage a bit, the standing was 30:24 two minutes before the end. Pižurica and Živković quickly scored 2 goals, at the other side Dimitrijević pushed two into our net. That was the end result, 32:26.
The hero of the day was Nemanja Živković with 10 (!!!) goals. He is followed by Ivan Popović (6). Mihajlo Radojković celebrated his 21st birthday with 4 goals (Happy Birthday!). Captain Mršulja also scored 4 goals. Lazar Kukić threw 3, Aleksa Maksić and Matija Pižurica scored 2-2, while young talent Darko Stevanović added one goal to this parade.

Football news

Former goal scorer and demigod of FK Partizan, current Lokomotiv Moscow player Petar Škuletić celebrated his 25th birthday yesterday.

A belated Happy Birthday to him! Srećan rođendan, Škule!

His teammates made him a video as a gift, where they all tell what a great guy Škule is.
He got cake, too.

In the meantime Partizan signed Cameroonian player Aboubakar Oumerou. Aboubakar has already played at numerous clubs of the Serbian superliga, e.g. Vojvodina, OFK Beograd as well as Crvena Zvezda. He signed for 2 years and after the medical checkup he joins the team that is currently on training camp in Slovenia. Aboubakar's jersey number will be 15.

I could say so many things on it. Probably the same that comes to your mind right now, dear fellow fan who is reading this. Let's agree in the jolly-joker term "we'll see".

Meanwhile our sons found their place at Arena Hotel and training complex in Pohorje, Slovenia, where they continue the preparations for the 2015/16 season.

The boys will surely not take the chair-lift to get to the top

It was great to see Predrag Luka in the team. Not so long ago some rumours were spread that Luka might be put on loan to Novi Pazar. I don’t want to quote those nasty curses the humble author of this blog started to yell when hearing about it. Come on, people! We want Predrag Luka to the starting eleven!
(feel free to use it as a hashtag #PredragLukaToTheStartingEleven)

"Okay, boys, so there's that winding road. You run uphill on that 3 times in a row, until then we go and have some ćevapi. Good luck!"

Here is an approx. 15-minute-long video about all the training camp fun.

All in one (handball, volleyball, water polo, ice hockey)

I owe you a lot of results and news, I make them up now in this post.

On 20th the handball team played eternal derby against the red team in the 14th round of SuperLiga. We won over them with an exciting, spectacular game, to 36:30.
It wasn't easy though, in the first half Zvezda kept the lead for almost the whole time. We equalized around the 25th minute (14:14), Vanja Ilić tackled the Zvezda-player, ran up and smashed the ball into the net. The half time result was 16:14.
In the half time pause there was a small celebration. Sunday was Miša Tumbas’s birthday and the handball team greeted him and gave him a gift.

After this the boys ran back to the court for the second half and humiliated reds. They ground Zvezda’s otherwise rock hard defense line to pieces, took control into their hands and from then on they kept on leading. In the 56th minute the standing was 33:28, with the difference of 7 goals. The end result was settled by Radojković. The hero of the day was Igor Mršulja with 9 goals.
And now, cuteness overload: grim Grave Diggers vs. children.

The entire match is available on Youtube, the first half can be viewed here, the second half here.

Current championship standings:

The volleyball team is still undefeated. On Saturday they clashed with Radnički and won easily over the Kragujevac-based team to 3:0. The Marko Nikolić-Milija Mrdak duo was again on top, scoring 15 and 14 points respectively. The first two sets was won by us, both to 25:20, then in the last one the guest team took the lead to 6:13. Partizan picked themselves together, made a 7:0 series and equalized to 18:18. From then on there was no return, we won the last game to 25:18.

Miša Tumbas celebrated his 61st birthday on Sunday. It was something that had to be celebrated properly.
His house still needs a lot of restauration, but it is already much better than it used to be (a million thanks to those who donated!), but it didn’t keep back Grave Diggers and the members of Grupa JNA to gather there together to greet Miša. They brought all kinds of food and drinks, they baked a birthday cake and the pictures (and video) all talk about them having fun.

Baking the cake (the Cyrillic script says: Grave Diggers love you)

The birthday gift Miša got was an image of Duško Vujošević. The basketball team’s head coach is Miša’s well-wisher

Celebration, joy, emotions

On Wednesday the water polo team got defeated in Triglav League by Mornar. The Split-based team was on the lead to 6:7 in the half-time, and they made it to 6:10 for the end of the 3rd quarter. We scored 3 goals in the last period, but it wasn't enough. The end result was 9:11. Nikola Jakšić scored the most goals (3). With this loss we got down to the 7th place of our group. There is only one team behind us, Crvena Zvezda. Both us and them have 7 points.

The hockey team defeated Szegedi Tisza Volán to 6:5 with penalty shots. The end result was 5:5. We won the first part to 2:0 with the goals of Ogrizović (assist: Brkušanin) and Čuković (assist: Filipović). In the second period we were leading to 4:2. Our goals were scored by Raković (assist: Pajević) and Ristić. From Tisza Volán the two goal scorers were Ambrus and Fülöp. In the last period Szeged equalized. From our team only Raković scored (assist: Ristić), Tisza Volán players Strenk, Pápa and Salánki scored the equalizing shots.
Penalty shots were started by Komazec, he scored (1:0). Next was Egyed, our goalkeeper saved. Filipović scored (2:0), so did Strenk (2:1). Janković’s shot was saved by Szeged’s goalkeeper, while Pápa's one missed the goal line.

The upheaval around the football club still doesn't want to calm down. On one hand some rumours say, Tumbaković’s position got uncertain after Ćirić left. Some say, president Zoran Popović talked to Nenad Bjeković, whom some see as the replacement for Tumbaković. Of course everyone is denying everything.
In the meantime the debts of FK Partizan got public and were officially confirmed as well. According to the news the entire debt is more than 14 million euros. The biggest amount the club owes is 4,7 million euros, that should be transferred to the Serbian tax office. The unpaid salaries the team owes for players and workers cost 3,314 million euros altogether. The different managements and player agencies demand 2.534.800 euros, other companies more than one and a half million euros. The team owes Partizan Travel (the company that is responsible for all kinds of trips and travels for the team to both inland and foreign places) 1,189 million euros. Other financial debts cost 1,03 million, while UEFA demands 585 600 euros in still unpaid fees.
That’s it, at the moment.
Meanwhile a group of Grave Diggers visited SC Teleoptik in Zemun, where the team had their usual training session, and as always, ALWAYS they flooded the boys with their love (and a few torches).

Birthday

Today is the 55th birthday of Zvonko Varga, Partizan's legendary striker, current assistant manager.

(photo: srbijadanas.com)

Stand up and salute. Then you watch the highlights of the historical 75th eternal derby, when Partizan beat the red team to 2:1 with the goals of Dragan Mance and Zvonko Varga. Interesting fact is that Zvezda's only goal was scored by that Milko Đurovski, who later transferred to Partizan (and became very popular among fans).

Commercial break: visit underPFC's Youtube-channel. You'll find lots and lots of treasures like this one above as well as other match highlights and archive material.

And today celebrates Edo Murić, too, the basketball team's and fans' precious, who can light 23 candles on his birthday cake.
