FK Partizan - FK Voždovac 2:1 (superliga, round 35 - play-off, round 5)

We had a heavy start. In the first 10 minutes we got Voždovac stuck at their half, we practically made them play bunker football. In the 3rd minute Alen Stevanović ran up on the left and crossed to Lukić. Lukić shot almost from the baseline, the goalkeeper saved.

In the 6th minute Subić (who finally played again after a very long pause) passed to Bojinov. A Voždovac-defender tackled by sliding in, the ball hit his arm (the slow motion replay confirmed it), but the referee again didn’t whistle for penalty.
Voždovac could break out from the bunker in the 11th minute. They got a corner kick right there (which was inactivated by Partizan-defenders). From then on the match was less one-sided, yet it still lacked action. The teams were running all around, mostly on the midfield, sometimes one of them ran towards the box, but could barely make it further than the penalty area line.
In the 19th minute Subić crossed to the middle. Kosović was about to head it to the box, but a defender was quicker and sent the ball out through the baseline.
In the 22nd minute Golubović got the ball after a throw-in. He quickly crossed it to the middle, where Lukić headed it towards the box, but it was too wide. A minute later Voždovac’s Radin sent a sudden, distant shot to our box, it was too wide.
In the 29th minute Everton got the ball from Stevanović in the middle. He shot it to the box from at least 30 metres, the goalkeeper caught it.

Everton just had to pick a quarrel with the opponent’s player AGAIN. It was not the first time he started to push someone from the other team, while the (alleged or actual) foul was not committed against him, what is more, most of the time he wasn’t even there when it happened. Still he appears there and starts to push the opponent’s player around while cursing.
I also noticed, whomever we play against, no matter what is the standing of the game, after a certain time the opponent starts to grind Everton strategically. A kick here, a brunt there - it doesn’t matter as long as it makes him fall on the ground and he hits himself. It’s not less unsportsmanlike than Everton’s primitive and aggressive manifestations on the field, but nevertheless it’s not surprising at all. And it will continue as long as this Brazilian boor keeps up hthis attitude.

Other than this above nothing happened on the match. Voždovac got more and more closer to our penalty area, while we passed the ball backwards, having no better idea. At the very end in the 45th minute Bandalovski had a mentionable attempt, kicking the ball to the middle from a sharp angle, but the goalkeeper caught it.

Question of the day: why didn’t Aleksandar Subić get any chance to get into the starting eleven until now?
(He could be seen often on the bench, so he was surely not injured.)
Just because at this match he played very well. He had great crosses to the middle, he ran a lot and he was dangerous for the opponent’s goal as well. But even earlier, when he was (still) in the starting eleven, there was never any complain for his game. He is a defender, but he can play left-winger as well. He plays through the entire left side, he is also dangerous for the opponent’s goal. If he got much more chance, we could easily bring the best out of him.

We started the second half with a goal.
It was like in a comedy. Stevanović forwarded the ball to Subić on the left. Subić ran up to the baseline and sent it back to Bojinov. Bojinov wanted to shoot, but he hit Radojević instead, who arrived sliding in. He still wanted to pick the ball, but that rolled away from him. Golubović appeared, grabbed the ball and kicked it into the box. 1:0

After this Voždovac tried with a counter-attack. Mašović shot, it was too high.
In the 54th minute Voždovac got a corner-kick. After kicking the ball around it was Blagojević, who got the chance to shoot. It was too high (also, as if the ball had hit someone before flying out).
In the 58th minute Bojinov was tackled by the defenders. The ball rolled to Golubović, he immediately shot, the goalkeeper caught it. Still in the same minute Everton received the ball from the left. From him it was sent to Golubović again. Golubović again shot, missing the box with just a few centimetres.
In the 70th minute Saša Ilić shot from the middle, the goalkeeper easily caught it.

As slow as the game was flowing in the previous 10-12 minutes, it sped up as much for the last 20. In the 71st minute Srećković got the ball from Odita (the Nigerian player sent it backwards with an Oxford trick) and shot from 18 metres, missing the box barely. A minute later again Srećković made some unpleasant moments inside our penalty area, this time Šaranov stopped him. In the 73rd minute the guests got a free kick, almost at the left corner flag. Ivković sent the cross to the box, but it was too high.
In the 80th minute Mihajlović ran up with the ball on the left. He had a big solo, dribbled around then shot and scored a great goal. 2:0

Voždovac’s reply came two minutes later.
They got a corner kick. The cross flew through the goalmouth, Partizan’s entire defense just watched in shock. Kosović tried to do something, but the ball dropped to Mihajlov and he shot it into the box. 2:1
In the 85th minute Mihajlović ran up again on the left with the ball and crossed to Saša Ilić in the middle. He shot, the goalkeeper saved.
Voždovac had one attempt left in the extra time (90+4.), Stojanović shot, Šaranov saved.

Video of the day - Babović, the seducer

I swear it wasn’t my idea.
Prva TV uploaded a video to Youtube, where you can see Partizan-players taking part at a fashion photoshoot. There’s nothing special in it, there are a million other examples of sportsmen modeling, or even being the ambassadors of a certain brand. (E.g. Neymar Jr. and Police.)
So, Prva TV uploaded the video on Youtube titled "Stefan Babović - Zavodnik bez premca" (Stefan Babović - The peerless seducer).

The video itself is funny, sometimes even entertaining (except for the trashy background music). There are a lot of excellent, talented football players who tried out what it could be like to be fashion dolls, and they seemingly had fun doing it.
And there’s Babović.

Excuse me for the not-that-presentable question - I try to use my words as delicately as possible - but please, anyone, tell me, who is that at Prva TV, with whom, ahem, well, erm, has a close (sexual) relationship with Babović? Because it is not the first time that this talentless, wooden-legged nobody player was mentioned as "zavodnik".

If I wanted to be very demagogue now, I’d say, luckily the pure talent and commitment is enough at all the other players, so they don’t need any extra grammatical modifiers. But let’s not get into these now. What’s the most important and what has the greatest priority now is that

The game will be broadcasted live by ArenaSport 1. So far there’s no info that the state-owned TV or any other channel with better coverage would also broadcast.

The field of the Čačak stadium got soaky wet after days of heavy raining. It was covered with mud when the players walked out for the match. It was raining even during the game, the slippery grass made it even more difficult for both teams. As an extra, the stadium lights were just glimmering during the evening. At the goal area it was semi-dark.

The game started with a minute of silence for the memory of Srđan Jovanović, former referee and president of FSS’s referee committe, who passed away earlier this week.
Then, right after the starting whistle Borac attacked. Their striker ran up on the right side, Bandalovski threw himself into the way. (It was barely a few millimetres that it didn’t end as an own goal. Thankfully it didn’t, Borac got a corner kick.)

In the 8th minute the home team attacked again. Jovančić shot from 18 metres. Živko Živković performed a great save, then he stayed on the ground holding his waist with a painful face.
In the 10th minute again the home team could run up on the right side.

The left side of our defense line was again like a passage-way. Something must be done, it cannot remain like this for the CL-game on Wednesday.

Knežević ran up all alone and shot. Živko Živković saved with his leg. Then again he stayed on the ground. Now he got medical attendance, what is more, on the screen appeared Filip Kljajić, the substitute goalkeeper as he was warming up. Finally Živko Živković didn’t need any substitution, though he visibly had pain during the match.

In the 23rd minute, while Average Fan tried to resurrect the dying stream, we got a free kick about 25-30 metres from the goal line, on the right. Babović stood behind the ball, he shot it inside the penalty area, but defenders cleared it.
In the 30th minute again Borac attacked, again from the right side. They passed the ball to the middle, Živko Živković caught it. Five minutes later Babović got the ball on the left. He headed it to the goal line, but it was too high.
Then in the 38th minute we tried to break Borac’s defense in the middle. The ball dropped from a defender to Trujić, who was standing on the right. For everyone’s surprise Trujić shot, and the ball dropped into the upper left corner of the net like a cannon ball. 0:1

In the 42nd minute Petrović got a great pass from Saša Ilić on the left. He shot, the ball would have needed just millimetres to get into the net. Borac started a counter-attack, our defense line cleared in the last moment. Corner kick, the ball is shot to the middle, where Mićić jumped up to head it into the net, but it slipped on his bald head. Živko Živković again presented an amazing save.

In the second half, in the 49th minute we got a corner kick. Babović shot...
...and Balažic plain and simply headed it into the net. 0:2!!!!
In the 55th minute Saša Ilić passed the ball out to the right side to Trujić. Trujić kicked it back to him, then the Captain shot from 8 metres. Goalkeeper Bajić saved, Borac could ran up for a counter-attack. On the right side

Tanasin arrived with the ball. The ball dropped out of the line, but neither the referee, nor the assistant bothered about it. Tanasin passed to the middle to his teammate who headed it to our goal line, missing it with just millimetres. We started a counter-counter-attack. Šaponjić got the ball, he ran up in the middle and shot with full power. The goalkeeper made a huge save.
In the 64th minute the home attack came again from the right. Knežević (if I could see well) got the ball and shot immediately. Marko Jevtović selflessly threw himself into the way, making the attempt end as a corner kick. The shot was headed by a Borac-player (Mićić maybe?... I’m not sure, maybe it was his bald head there), but it was too high.
Cardial arrest came in the 69th minute. Our defense line lost the ball, substitute player Đerić grabbed it at once. He attacked our goal all alone, all doors and windows were wide open...
...and Živko Živković made one of the greatest saves of his life with HIS LEG!
In the 71st minute we got a free kick on the right. Babović shot to Trujić, he passed it ahead to Lukić. Lukić got the ball, shot and scored a fantastic goal. 0:3!!!!

We immediately got the answer, practically right after the kickoff. After a wrong pass lost by Partizan-defenders Knežević grabbed the ball. He rushed up to the goal and kicked the ball into our net passing it by Živko Živković, who ran out of the goalmouth. 1:3
In the 78th minute Milojević had a huge chance, but Živko Živković had an even more huge save. Meanwhile Lukić stayed on the ground laying; a Borac-player kicked him on his back. Lukić couldn’t continue the game. Kosović, his substitute debuted in Partizan.

In the 82nd minute Borac got a free kick from a distance, on the right. The ball was passed into our goalmouth and headed to our goal line, but it was too wide.
In the 87th minute we led a counter-attack after a Borac-corner. Trujić ran up on the right side and passed it to the middle. Šaponjić arrived, but defenders cleared the area.

May the lightning stroke those who thought it was a good idea to put Partizan’s football matches to ArenaSport 5. Not only it’s the worst, most obvious marketing tricks

to make fans subscribe for this channel, too, if they want to watch Partizan, because subscribing for ArenaSport 1 only is not enough
and this intention is especially ridiculous knowing the coverage (or rather, the lack of it) of ArenaSport in Serbia 

but lacking technical preparations as well as the top of all. It was just like at the previous match. The broadcast collapsed before the starting whistle. The match has reached its 4th minute when it got back to life, but even then the timestamp showing the elapsed time was either visible or not.
When the broadcast finally healed, a Spartak-player was just sending a shot to our goal line. Živko Živković easily saved.
In the 7th minute we got a corner kick. Andrija Živković kicked, Aboubakar headed it, missing the goal only by millimetres. It ended in another corner kick, this time performed by Babović. Fabricio headed it, the defenders kicked it out, but the ball dropped to Bojinov, then to Lukić. Lukić shot from approx. 25 metres, the goalkeeper had a great save. Another corner kick, again by Babović. Bojinov got the ball, and he shot with a cheeky half-turn, scoring right into the net. 1:0

In the 14th minute Babović gave a great pass to Andrija Živković. Živković ran up with a huge solo, then fell on the ground inside the penalty area while wrestling with a defender. The referee did not whistle for penalty. Spartak immediately started a counter-attack. Stefan Ilić got the ball and shot. Živko Živković saved it with a great movement.
In the 21st minute Andrija Živković got the ball and passed it to Lukić in the middle. It was a great chance, but Lukić was swept away by defenders. Never mind, the ball got to Bojinov. The Bulgarian striker shot, but goalkeeper Janošević saved, probably with the best save of his life.
In the 23rd minute again Lukić shot from 20 metres, the goalkeeper caught it.
It was a great, exciting match with good pace, spectacular attacks and screaming/cardial arrest type goal attempts. In the 29th minute Milošević sent a distant shot to our goal line, but it was too wide.

At this point I had technical problems and they didn’t leave until the end of the first half. I try to reconstruct the events of the rest of the first half by reports and match highlights.

The match’s pace got slower a bit. The fans of the southern tribunes made a spectacular scene with torches.

In the 42nd minute Andrija Živković got the ball after a great action. The attack ended in a corner. A minute later again Andrija Živković ran up with the ball and passed it to Aboubakar. Aboubakar had an even greater solo than Žile then passed it to Bojinov. Bojinov shot, the ball hit the goalpost’s corner.
In the last minute of the first half again the Andrija Živković-Aboubakar axis put themselves into action. Finally Aboubakar was pushed to the ground by a defender inside the penalty area - the referee didn’t whistle again.

Substitutes started to warm up before the end of the first half. Nothing is further from me than disrespect - may God forgive me even the pretence - but this image is PRICELESS

In the second half, at the 47th minute Lukić kicked the ball from the left, but the goalkeeper caught it. A minute later we got a corner kick. Aboubakar headed it to the goal. It was too high, Aboubakar fell into the net.

In the 51st minute Lukić passed it with a fantastic movement into the middle to Bojinov. Bojinov wanted to grab it, but the entire Spartak defense line jumped on him, he was tackled. Spartak ran up for a counter-attack. Milošević passed it to Makarić in the middle, Živko Živković made a great save.

In the 55th minute Bojinov ran up in the middle. He passed it to Andrija Živković to the right. Žile dribbled, then shot. I hope, goalkeeper Janošević will get some kind of bonus after this match, because again he had a fantastic save. Spartak can thank mostly to him

that they didn’t get more goals from us.

Then came the 57th minute. Torbica ran up to our area, while wrestling with Fabricio. Then the Subotica team captain tripped, and like a ripened pear, fell into our penalty area.

Can you guess what happened next?

Yes. You’re right. Referee Piper whistled and pointed to the penalty mark.

ArenaSport’s slow motion replay clearly showed IT WAS NOT A PENALTY. Dear Mr. Referee, please, give back your referee pass right now. Afterwards you can go hoeing.

But Partizan would not be Partizan if they had collapsed at this point, spending the rest of the match on the ground just with alibi-football. We started to attack heavily. In the 63rd minute Lukić shot after a great solo, the goalkeeper pushed it to corner. The kick dropped to Babović, he sent it to Vulićević on the right. From him the ball dropped to Balažic. The defender headed it to the goal, the goalkeeper saved.

In the 65th minute Partizan had a fireworks-alike, very spectacular scene in Spartak’s goalmouth. Vulićević got the ball, he sent it to the other side. There arrived Andrija Živković and kicked it to the middle to Babović. Babović shot, but it was too high.

I swear I didn’t see it clearly. Did he really shoot this very high from 5 metres, or the goalkeeper saved it somehow, just the referee didn’t whistle for corner?

At this point Partizan put Spartak under heavy pressure. The Subotica team got stuck for a while around their penalty area. The second home goal was very much in the air.
In the 69th minute Andrija Živković kicked the ball to the middle. There Nemanja Petrović got it and sent a bomb shot from 10-12 metres. So pity it was too wide... Then Vulićević sent a fantastic pass to Andrija Živković in the right. Živković passed it to Saša Ilić in the middle, the Captain kicked it to Brašanac. Brašanac shot, the goalkeeper saved it to corner.
In the 74th minute Spartak could get out a bit to Partizan’s half. They got a corner, Partizan-defenders cleared it. They still possessed the ball, one of them made a distant shot. Živko Živković saved, we could run up for a counter-attack. Petrović passed to Andrija Živković. He shot, but it was too wide.
In the 78th minute substitute player Šaponjić got a fantastic pass from Saša Ilić. He shot, the ball hit the side net.
At this point hell started to break loose. Spartak-players were clearly playing for time. The fans were booing, finally the referee got fed up with the fumbling and gave a yellow card to Plavšić.
In the 85th minute Andrija Živković got the ball and passed it to Saša Ilić. The Captain passed it ahead to Trujić, but for Trujić it was too long. A minute later the unbreakable, nuclear-powered Andrija Živković passed the ball to the middle to Šaponjić. Šaponjić shot, but missed.
In the 90+2nd minute Vulićević passed the ball to the middle. All we could see was Trujić falling to the ground. Even the slow motion replay didn’t show too many details, only some wrestling. But, as you could guess, the referee didn’t whistle at all.

Partizan’s bench was totally upset. The camera showed Babović jumping up from his seat, yelling towards the referee. But referee Piper didn’t listen.

In the 90+4th minute, almost at the very end we got a corner kick. It was just a small shot, then Andrija Živković kicked it to the middle. It ended in another corner kick. The ball dropped to Saša Lukić. He wasted no time, shot and scored such a giant goal from 5 metres that the net tore to pieces. 2:1!!!!! This match is ours!!!!!

Right before the final whistle hell finally broke loose. Zoran Lončar, Partizan’s second trainer started to yell with the referee

and he was joined by the entire Partizan bench. The second trainer had to leave the ground. Fans were booing, yelling, cursing the referee and generally everyone. Finally, after almost 7 minutes of extra time came the final whistle.

The day after the match news sites reported about investigations about the bribed matches in the Serbian football championship. The Serbian sports minister, Nebojša Stefanović personally talked to the media

He mentioned that teams like Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, OFK Beograd and Čukarički are especially under investigation.

This will be more than interesting, especially because on one hand I’m sure even the highest (political) circles are involved in it, on the other, the minister promised to make all the details of the investigation public.
I swear it would deserve to be released as a documentary book.

In the meantime Partizan signed Cameroonian player Aboubakar Oumerou. Aboubakar has already played at numerous clubs of the Serbian superliga, e.g. Vojvodina, OFK Beograd as well as Crvena Zvezda. It was great to see Predrag Luka in the team. Not so long ago some rumours were spread that Luka might be put on loan to Novi Pazar. Football news

Saša Marković left ul. Humska. The midfielder signed to Córdoba CF, a team in the Spanish second division. Marković signed there for 2 years. The news was confirmed on Córdoba's website.

Marković successfully got over all medical tests as well.
