Volgograd - KK Partizan 61:59 (Eurocup)
Another match, when we didn’t deserve at all to lose. The team was fighting heroically until the end, didn’t give up, hung in there, but finally we were defeated.
Everything was going fine in the first quarter. We were on the lead to 2:6, then to 4:8. Murić crowned it all (4:10). But referees didn’t find their peace until the home team equalized. Volgograd earned an amazing amount of free throws, the counter switched to 12:10 from 4:10. Finally Milutinov scored 18 seconds before the end buzz, that resulted 15:12 after the first period.
At the very beginning of the second one the referees fouled Andrić, for sure out of pure love. Andrić thanked it with a score (15:14) obviously this one was full of pure love as well. The team was fighting hard, Murić threw a basket (20:16). Then Aranitović got a technical foul, then at 24:16 the new king of 3-pointers, Mihajlo Andrić made it (24:19). Milutinov had a fantastic score, just before the buzz. The home team made a six-point series, Murić made one from free throw. The half time result was 32:25.
The difference was only 6 points in the third quarter (36:30, after Murić’s bonus shot), then the mountain troll-sized, strict-looking Travis scored, standing under the backboard all alone. It was followed by a fantastic Milutinov-Tepić teamwork (38:32), then Gagić reduced the difference at 43:32. And the difference was reduced again. And again. 45:36 (Milutinov), 45:38 (Gagić), 45:41 (Tepić, phenomenal 3-pointer). We headed to the last quarter with 47:41.
Well, during the last quarter Average Fan’s nerves were torn to pieces. The home team made it to 52:41, their advantage was more than 10 points. Tepić disagreed (52:43). So did Milutinov (52:46). Just like Gagić (52:48). The disagreement was so strong that even Murić joined (52:50). Finally Bogdanović dusted himself off and made the Russians absolutely sure they are faced by a real movement. We equalized. 52:52. The problem was that Volgograd operated with 8 players on the ground. You know what I mean. 5 players + 3 referees. After a long period of wrestling they pressured a basket out of themselves (54:52). Andrić answered with an easy and cool 3-pointer (54:55). There came the referees and a row of free throws for Volgograd. The home team suddenly found themselves on the lead with 4 points (59:55). Andrić scored two points, guess how, from free throw (59:57), the last basket was scored by Tepić (61:59).
This anti-Tepić campaign that has been frothing in the Serbian media since the final whistle of the match is more than disgusting. Especially that the guard scored 10 points during the game. Raise your hand if you never ever screwed things up in the critical moment. Also, I wish everyone who wrote those bullying lines while sitting at the monitor, scratching their ass to live without a dinar for months, working only for the love of the company while all public works kick off the door and burst in for not paying the bills

Coming up: TODAY!!! Volgograd - KK Partizan (Eurocup) and VK Partizan - Jadran ST (Triglav League) + tomorrow: Besiktas - FK Partizan (Europa League)
Today at 17:00 starts the basketball team against Russian team Volgograd.
- It will be a very tough match, we must do our best - said Milutinov.
Duško Vujošević explained in the meantime that the schedules of Adriatic League and Eurocup do not match each other and sometimes it means serious difficulties to balance the two.
I can totally relate to that.
Beside this the team's self-esteem and combative spirit reached a low level, due to all the losses in the past weeks. Plus Mačvan is still not healthy.
- We are in a very difficult situation, but I hope the saying "darkest before dawn" will be proven true - said the trainer.
At 20:00 the water polo team welcomes Jadran ST at the Banjica swimming pool. After the 5th round the team is 6th on the league table, while the opponent is the 7th.
The basketball team’s match will be broadcasted live today by ArenaSport 1. Around the water polo team there is big silence, if I get to know anything about a possible broadcast, I’ll update the post.
The football team departed to Istanbul today to take revenge on Besiktas for the defeat of last time. They clash tomorrow at 19:00.
- It is a great chance to match our strength against a serious opponent - said Marko Nikolić - In Belgrade we could see the dominance of Besiktas. Now we meet again and I hope we could gain some good experiences. This time we are the "underdog", yet I hope we will play a better game than last time.

As I couldn’t watch the match (however much it hurts, the football team is still the football team), I could rely only on online found reports.
We could keep the game under our control only in the first 5 minutes. In the half time Igokea was on the lead with 7 points. The result was 39:32 before the long pause, Partizan’s most active players were the Gagić-Milutinov-Andrić axis.
We could turn the result to our benefit in the third quarter with the help of Murić (41:44), but Igokea put themselves into action and finished the period with 50:44. In the final part the referees helped a bit to the home team.

FK Partizan - Vojvodina 1:0 (Jelen SuperLiga, Round 11)
The hero of the day:
We won. We had a fantastic game with Vojvodina. The two teams immediately set out at each other, then in the 7th minute Veselinović decided to try if Lukač is at his place. But before anything could have happened, Ćirković cleaned the area.
In the 16th minute Partizan missed a huge chance. Škuletić arrived with excellent pace on the left side, kicked the ball that rolled through between the goalkeeper’s legs... and left the playing field just a few centimetres near the right goalpost. Three minutes later another great chance came. Živković passed the ball to Škuletić, who ran up in the middle. He passed it to Lazović, the striker kicked the ball into the goalkeeper. A few seconds later it was again Lazović who shot the ball to the goal line, but the goalkeeper had very good reflexes. Vojvodina then ran up for a counter-attack. The shot wasn’t strong, it meant no problem for Lukač.
The 25th minute brought another Vojvodina-attack. Gaćinović passed it to Veselinović. It was dangerous, but Lukač grabbed the ball.
The 30th minute gave Škuletić another chance. Živković kicked the ball to him, Škuletić headed it ahead, but the goalkeeper caught it.
But then...
33rd minute.
Živković passed the ball to Škuletić from behind the half line, with an at least 25-metre shot. The striker ran up, had a great sprint, kicked...
...GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLL!!!!!!!
Fantastic, amazing, wonderful, brilliant goal, shot near Milinković-Savić, who ran out, right into the middle of the net.
The southern tribune had a fiesta.
Some started an argument about Škuletić, whether he was on offside when Živković passed to him or not. Well, ArenaSport’s slow motion replay didn’t confirm it, even though it was shown numerous times, analyzed by frame to frame. All that could be seen was that the striker and the defender were in level, but in-level offside hasn't been actual offside since 1990.
In the 36th minute Živković tried with another chance, while the entire field was under smoke. Meanwhile Lazović was the favourite target of guest team players, i.e. everyone who got next to him, kicked into him.
In the 40th minute Drinčić passed the ball to the middle. Someone headed it (I couldn’t see who it was), barely missed. Four minutes later again Škuletić rushed up to Vojvodina’s penalty area. He got a great pass from Lazović, made a turn at the penalty area line shaking the defender off and kicked the ball. It passed by the goalpost with just a few centimetres again.
Even the last moments brought some action. Partizan attacked, a pass came from the right side, then the ball dropped to Marković. The midfielder kicked a 20-metre bomb shot, it flew just a little bit above the goalpost.
In the beginning of the second half, in the 47th minute Živković got a great pass. It ended as corner, the corner was shot into the middle and Stanković emerged from the crowd heading the ball to goal. Missed.
Two minutes later the guests got a corner. They missed, but still had the ball. Finally they attacked Partizan’s goal, Lukač had a great save, and after a shorter upheaval around the penalty area the referee whistled offside.
In the 53rd minute Lazović - varietas delectat... - was again kicked to the ground. Free kick, about 35 metres from Vojvodina’s goal line. The shot flew into the middle, right in front of Stanković. All doors and windows were open, but the defender somehow made a very weak kick, the goalkeeper easily saved it.
Three minutes later again Škuletić got into action. He got the ball from Lazović, Škuletić shot, but it wasn’t really a strong one, the goalkeeper saved. A minute later Škuletić was about to give a pass to Lazović, but the assistant waved offside.
In the 63rd minute the world again watched Škuletić. The striker made a distant, flat shot, the ball was dropping and passed near the goalpost with just a little. Then the referee called for smoke pause, while the fans had a great time. The game continued after 2 minutes.
In the 67th minute Lazović got the ball after a fantastic Branko Ilić - Živković - Branko Ilić teamwork. The shot flew onto the side net.
Then nothing special happened for about 10 minutes. The game was going mostly on Vojvodina’s half. They could get to Partizan’s area very seldom, and even then they couldn’t keep the ball there for long time. The 77th minute brought a Partizan-corner. Vojvodina defenders headed the ball out, that dropped to Marković. He shot, but it was weak and didn’t mean much danger for the guests’ goal line.
Another 10 minutes came, when mostly substitutes brought the only excitement. Here I must note, Partizan’s defense line did a wonderful job. The Branko Ilić-Stanković-Petrović-Ćirković axis was on 100 % efficiency.
In the 88th minute Živković made a distant shot to Vojvodina’s goal. In the meantime Partizan’s net got on fire, literally. Vojvodina’s fans threw a firecracker behind Lukač. A firefighter quickly came and took the burning stick away before it would have made harm.
Here let me ask a question: why doesn’t Luka get any more chance than this? He is a good player, he can position himself very well, can switch pace quickly and he even scores goals. Why is it so, that he is exiled to the bench, just like Fofana?
The very last moments still had some excitement left. The 90+2nd minute gave a chance to Marković to make a 35-metre shot, that flew out of the field above the goalpost. A minute later Alivodić fired the remaining gunpowder, but his shot flew out high above the goalpost.
Then it was celebration time.

Update: as I got to know just now, Vojvodina's fans made a "nice surprise" for Petar Škuletić and head coach Marko Nikolić. Earlier both of them belonged to the team of Vojvodina and Firma, the fan group of the Novi Sad based team could still not forgive them that they signed to Belgrade. For this, as a revenge they made the striker’s and the trainer’s phone numbers public. Partizan have still not made any official statement about this provocation, but as for Škuletić, he took the most possible noble vengeance.

VICTORY!!! RLK Partizan - RLK Crvena Zvezda 36:20
Absolutely amazing victory against the red team in rugby. We ploughed up the rugby field of ul. Humska and stomped them into the soil with imperial walkers. We started well, but they caught us. Later they were caught by Destiny, because Parni valjak started to roll in the second half and all they could do was counting the difference.

Novi Pazar - OK Partizan 0:3 (Wiener Städtische Liga, Round 3)
It was a tough match against Novi Pazar, they did not give themselves in at a small expense definitely. The home team brought their best form, but Partizan was still stronger and more collected at crucial moments. The results of the three sets are 23:25, 14:25 and 19:25, upon reports Novi Pazar should have deserved at least one set won, especially that they were on the lead in the beginning.

Video of the day: Grave Diggers visited the team at training
A group of Grave Diggers visited the team today in the evening at Teleoptik Center in Zemun, Belgrade to support them before the match against Vojvodina tomorrow.

The evening brings a wonderful and fantastic situation. The football and the basketball team will start at the very same time. So, dear fellow fans, you should either quickly learn to proliferate or you spend the evening clicking between two TV channels (or open browser tabs). Or you give yourselves a headshot.
At one side there is the football team. Jelen SuperLiga, Round 11, ul. Humska. Derby. The opponent is team Vojvodina.
- Our team is young, the opponent's is experienced - said Marko Nikolić. - They have Pekarić, Veselinović and Alivodić among themselves, as well as other, very talented players. They are a serious opponent that deserves respect.
The head coach told about a discussion he had with the players earlier this week.
- We talked for an hour and a half about the weak form of past matches. We'll see if it has any impact on the result. If we could win against Vojvodina, it would stabilize our position.
Another topic was Petar Škuletić. He has been overly analyzed by the media, for not scoring goals in the past 2 matches, unlike earlier games. Some are already trying to put him down, others think the striker "has concentration problems". Marko Nikolić categorically dismissed the charges.
- If it was really like so what journalists say, Škuletić wouldn’t have had even a minute of chance. Now he may not be in form, but it happens with every striker. Yet many games were decided by his goals, therefore he absolutely deserves trust, especially mine.
At the other side there is the basketball team. Adriatic League, Round 6. Away match against Aleksandrovac-located (Bosnian Serb Republic) team, Igokea.
- We have a tough match behind us, with a very strong opponent - mentioned Duško Vujošević the previous game in Eurocup against Hapoel. - We’re now facing another tough one, with another very strong opponent, just this time in Banja Luka. We played a great match against Hapoel. Unfortunately we couldn’t win, yet it would have been benefical, at least for our self-esteem. Now we can show we can be even better.
